I am so glad to hear you wanted to get references for your vendors before your wedding. I, too, did the same thing, and its the best tool to use when dealing with service providers for your special day. I am going to do my best to answer your questions and I hope you can make a satisfied decision.
1) Did he work well with you and your husband? Jon and his wife were great to work with. I am a very picky person and had specifics of what I wanted in regards to pictures and portraits. Indian weddings are very demanding and particular shots are needed throught the three day affair. Jon and his wife were so attentive, cooperative, and honest. They meshed with my husband and I so well, they became more friends than just our photographers. That is a rare thing to say about service providers for our wedding. Jon and his wife were the only ones we have been in contact with since the wedding. It has become more of a friend/professional relationship between the four of us.
2) Did he work well under pressure (if there was any pressure at all)? He is a very experience photographer and knows exactly what to expect when it comes to pressure. He was assertive, but kind when trying to deal with pushy family and friends of ours that wanted every picture on the planet taken. He was so attentive to our needs and followed our agendas exactly as we wished. He definately puts the bride and groom first for the whole thing, unless directed otherwise. We had some issues with weather the day of our reception, and I was a wreck. Of course I was so upset about the possible bad shots that would happen because of the crappy weather, but Jon had been at the location 2 HOURS EARLY, to determine the best places to take photos. If that is not dedication, I don't know what else is. He was such a saving grace for me and my husband during the wedding.
3) Was he punctual in meetings, for engagement shoots and the wedding itself? ABSOLUTELY!!! I am very punctual and only give a 5 minute buffer for any service providers to be late. When you're getting married its important to have people work on your time and not theirs. I was truly demanding of time from all my providers and Jon was the only one who was punctual and even 15 minutes early for all our consultations and meetings. I knew after the first meeting, that he would be the one I chose for my photography needs.
4) Was he professional in dealing with you and your family? Like I stated before, he is assertive, but kind. That is exactly what I wanted at my wedding. You may want to have your parents or your partner's parents to "go to" people for direction, if you please and Jon will abide by whatever the bride and groom wanted. His professionalism is top notch and his experience allows him to adapt to every member of the family. All my family couldn't stop raving about his great personality and ability to deal with such a large crowd of people in two days. My ceremony consisted of 350 people and my reception was 600 people. Trust me when I say, he was very professional with everyone.
5) Would you hire him again for other events? Without a doubt!!! He has been so much more than what I expected and I told him on the first day that we met, that if he provides me with quality services and photos, I will be his number one advertiser! And that I have become! My husband and I plan to have a few family parties and will be contacting him to take the professional photos for them. I will most likely, not use another photographer because of his competetive prices and his professionalism. He is the whole package!
6) Would you recommend his services to any of your friends? I already have. They have seen his work and enjoyed meeting him. Most of them will getting married next year and plan on contacting him soon. I only provide the best recommendation for people I really appreciate....and that is rare. I kid you not, I don't take the time to do recommendation, unless I really respect and admire the person. Jon and his wife are one of them. I know it may seem that I being over positive about creativebridal photography. I am being honest when I say that there are no negative things to say about him and his wife. They were the best providers of wedding service out there and I did almost 2 years of research before deciding on my service providers. If there was anything of concern to let you know about I would tell you because I have no gain if I misinform you. I really do appreciate and acknowledge the professionalism and product Jon provides and would have no problem recommending him to anyone I know. He will be a great choice for you if you decide to choose him. I hope this helps in making your decision and good luck to you and your partner in you special day to come!
